Sustainable Haddon Heights invites you to visit them every Sunday from 9:30 am until 1pm at their booth “Sundays near Station with Sustainable Haddon Heights” located in the Haddon Heights Farmers’ Market on E. Atlantic Avenue. The group will be having demonstrations on various aspects of sustainability and gardening.
The tentative schedule is:
Sept 4—Storm Water Runoff and the Heat Dome Effect—great for kids. See the demo models from the Franklin Institute.
Sept 11—Backyard Chickens—Learn how chickens can provide great fertilizer for your garden, eat bothersome insects and provide your breakfast. A couple local hens will be visiting.
Sept 18—Worm composting—no place for a regular composter or live in an apartment? Learn how worm composting can provide you with compost for your houseplants.
Sept 25—Bees and how to keep them happy and in your garden. See a demonstration hive. Horticultural Society of South Jersey will be joining us and will have seeds you can plant this fall to encourage pollinators.
