Sustainable Jersey hub for Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties
The NJDEP Sustainability Speaker Series (S3) is a forum to connect and promote New Jersey’s green heroes. Each S3 meeting focuses on a different sustainability topic and features leaders from across the state; sharing their stories, expertise and advice. For the Fall 2019 meeting we will be visiting Flying Fish Brewery in Somerdale, NJ.
Flying Fish Brewery was founded in 1996 by Gene Muller. What was started as a virtual brewery has grown over the years to become one of the most sustainable breweries–with the installation of 463 solar panels, solar tube lighting in the warehouse, recaptured steam in the brewing process, and rain gardens on the property. At the October 8th meeting Flying Fish President, Lou Romano, will discuss their sustainable initiatives in detail and attendees will be able to tour the facility to learn more hands on how their sustainable brewing works.
